
Computers for Beginners
This course is designed to help you learn the basic steps of how to use a computer effectively, and to apply your computer skills to everyday use. Computers have become an important part of life and many people use them to keep records, do calculations, search for information, store pictures, play games and communicate with others.
This course provides an ideal pathway into any of the accredited or pre-accredited courses offered at Laurels Education & Training. It is also an ideal pathway into employment or to build on existing work skills.

Times: 9.30am to 1.30pm
Completion: 30th March 2021

Introduction to computers
- A hands on introduction to computers and their many functions
Productivity Tools
- Learn how to use a range of software programs to produce documents, flyers and manage data
Social Media & Online Communication
- Looking at social media and its use in today’s society
The Internet, email and communicating online
- Setting up an email account, using the internet to communicate and search for information effectively
Keeping safe online
- Understanding and avoiding scams and common online safety issues
