Presented by professional florist, this course
would suit those who wish to explore options for a career in the industry,
or simply learn techniques to design and create individual arrangements
for home and friends. Each week you get to take home your own stunning
creation to enjoy.
Week 1 - Small box arrangement
Week 2 - Large box arrangement
Week 3 - Modern table centre
Week 4 - A pot arrangement (Ceramic or terracotta)
Please note: A variety of material and flowers is used and supplied
by the tutor at an extra cost of $25.00 per week. The cost for the first
week is to be paid with enrolment fee. (More detailed information sheet

Learn how to do minor repairs and restore one or
more items of wooden furniture. Topics include: methods of repairing,
removing old finishes, preparation and application of new finishes;
including French Polishing. The course is suitable for absolute beginners
as well as more experienced furniture restorers. Items to be restored
should be small and easily transportable. Material cost of $25 to be
paid to the tutor on the first day. (Materials include sandpaper, glue,
hardware and paint stripper.) Limited places available

After a fun day, you will take home your finished,
waterproof sculpture for your patio or garden and an imagination running
wild with ideas. Learn how to build, shape and drape a figure using
wire, foil fabric and "Paverpol" (a quick drying textile and
fabric hardener). Choose your colour from a wide selection.
“Splat, the Fairy”
Your project for this class will be "Splat - a quirky, slightly
crumpled fairy" – ideal to mount on a wall. Suitable for
beginners and no experience is necessary.
All materials are provided and included in the course fee. Please bring
your lunch. A sample of your project is on display at The Laurels.
“The Fisherman”
In this class you will construct a basic figure, which can be turned
into a fisherman (or fisherwoman) with the simple addition of a fishing
rod and the right attitude. This figure would be great situated on or
near a pond or water. If you prefer, you can forget the fishing rod
and just go for the attitude. All materials are provided and included
in the course fee.
