Accredited courses conducted at the Bacchus Marsh Community College Inc. are funded by  The Adult Community and Further Education Board to ensure access by all sectors of the community.
The courses have been identified and as sectors for which there is a shortage of trained labour in this region.

Looking for work in the Hospitality industry? The Laurels offers units of this Certificate to provide students with the theory and hands on practical experience required by employers in the respective hospitality areas.

Nationally recognised units offered are

  • Follow workplace Hygiene Practices,
  • Food Safety Supervisor,
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Provide table service of alcoholic beverages

This course is suited to a person wanting to gain work as a horticultural assistant. The course will include a combination of classroom sessions and on-the-job work experience. Options will be available in nursery, landscape and turf management.

CERTIFICATE III IN AGED CARE WORK
This course is designed to equip students to provide physical and social support to individuals in a variety of settings: hostels, nursing homes and the home and community care settings. As an entry level course it is suited to people who wish to work in the field or can be used as a lead in to further education in aged , disability or community work.

Training for management and staff in business is internationally recognized as one of the most significant factors in the success of the business. The new nationally accredited business Training Package offers a broad range of options for packaging training.

CERTIFICATE I
Certificate I is an entry level course and ideal in particular for men & women returning to study or the workforce.
Successful completion of Certificate I will also give participants automatic entry to Certificate II.

CERTIFICATE II
Certificate II in Business provides training for employment in general office positions including

  • receptionist
  • administrative assistant
  • general & filing clerk
  • person Friday
  • office assistant and many more.

A range of office skills are delivered to provide students with the competencies required in an office environment.

This qualification provides practical fundamental skills in IT and is a good foundation for anyone seeking to build their knowledge.  The course is an opportunity for workers or jobseekers to learn how to use computers more efficiently and develop an understanding of a wide range of computer concepts and software.  Limited places available.
