LIMESTONE CARVING
A course for those wanting to learn the craft of limestone carving. The course covers design, technique and texture finish. Coralline limestone from Mount Gambier is used. This is a natural semi-soft stone with remnants of shell and marine fossils, making it an excellent medium for those new to sculpting. Tools are provided. Cost of blocks $7.50 to $35.00.

SOAP MAKING WORKSHOP
Take this opportunity to learn how to make hand crafted soap using only pure vegetable oils with no artificial chemicals, additives or preservatives. This soap is suitable for those who are sensitive to the additives in commercially prepared products and is environmentally and 'grey water' friendly. The course fee includes all the ingredients needed to make your soap, recipes and handouts. An information and requirements list is available on enrolment.

FURNITURE RESTORATION
Under the guidance of a professional craftsman, learn how to do minor repairs and restore one or more items of furniture. Topics covered include - methods of repairing; removing the old, and preparation and application of new finishes including French polishing. This course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as more experienced furniture restorers. Items to be restored should be small and easily transportable. A materials cost of $25 is to be paid to the tutor on the first day.
