Course outline

These classes are designed to help people from Non-English speaking backgrounds improve their spoken and written English.

Do you or someone you know struggle with the English language? Do you need help filling in paperwork? Develop skills to communicate effectively at home, at work and in the community.

This course will cover speaking and listening to increase your confidence in communicating in English on a daily basis, reading and writing particularly to build your English vocabulary.

Learning language skills through topics relating to everyday life in Australia such as education, employment, health and money.

Course outline

This course has been designed to give students the confidence to use English and Numeracy in everyday life situations, such as:

  • English as a second language

  • Reading and completing forms

  • Speaking and listening

  • Spelling, grammar and punctuation

  • General reading and writing

  • Learning essential language skills
